"Who'd want you?" - Former White Sox manager bluntly shoots down Chicago players' trade aspirations after 15th consecutive loss

The Chicago White Sox's season went from bad to worse as the team hit another low after Monday's loss against Kansas City Royals. An 8-5 loss in the series opener meant that the White Sox have now lost 15 games on the trot, a new franchise record.

Earlier in the season, baseball's worst team this year set a franchise record by losing 14 straight games. It only got worse as White Sox went through another 14 game losing streak. However, their unwanted streak has extended to a 15th straight game this time.

Despite their screeching form, several White Sox players have been subjects of trade rumors with some players keen on jumping from the sinking ship. However, former White Sox player and manager Ozzie Guillen isn't too pleased with the notion of players reportedly exploring trade options ahead of the trade deadline.

He had some harsh words for the players after the White Sox lost their 15th consecutive game.

"For some reason, some players out there think they're gonna get traded. A couple of guys making comments," Guillen said.
"Who'd want you? For real," he added.

Although the former White Sox manager didn't take any names, it is possible he was taking an indirect jibe at starter Garrett Crochet, who reportedly demanded an extension last week amid trade rumors.

Ozzie Guillen played for the White Sox for over a decade and returned as a manager in 2004 after his retirement. Under his leadership, the team won their last World Series title in 2005.

Ozzie Guillen wants the entire White Sox staff fired

Ozzie Guillen has been critical of the team's management this season. Earlier this month, the former White Sox All-Star criticized the team for the quality of baseball in 2024. He said:

“Forget the wins, the White Sox should want to see a little better baseball”.
“I would fire them all,” Guillen said on the players and the managers.

The White Sox had a busy day before Monday's series opener against the Royals. They traded starting pitcher Erick Fedde and outfielder Tommy Pham to the St. Louis Cardinals, while Michael Kopech was dealt to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-team trade.

The White Sox received prospects Miguel Vargas, Alexander Albertus and Jeral Perez from the Dodgers in return for Kopech. They called up Dominic Fletcher, Sammy Peralta and Touki Toussaint to fill the gap after the trade deals.
