Will Smith's wife Cara thanks God for ‘perfect timing’ as couple welcomes daughter a week before Dodgers' World Series glory

Will Smith and the Los Angeles Dodgers enjoyed a successful season in 2024. The Blues finished the regular season with the best record in the major leagues as they won their division. They then went on to be crowned champions of the NL before winning the World Series.

For Will Smith and his family, though, there was plenty of cause for celebration well before a single World Series game was played. Will's wife, Cara Smith, gave birth to daughter Layton Elizabeth, the couple's second child, on October 22. With the first World Series game set to be played on October 25, Layton arrived at just the "perfect" time, according to Cara Smith's Instagram Story from Friday, November 8.

"happy due date (yesterday)!! thank you god for your perfect timing... the past two and a half weeks have been nothing short of amazing with our little Layton💕" Cara Smith captioned her Instagram story

Will Smith first met his future wife when both were students at the University of Louisville. Eventually, they got engaged in 2019 and tied the knot in 2020. Their first daughter, Charlotte, was born in 2022.

Will Smith celebrates his second World Series win with family and thousands of Dodgers fans

The Los Angeles Dodgers sealed their eighth World Series win in organization history as they completed an incredible comeback to beat the New York Yankees 7-6 in game five at Yankee Stadium, sealing a 4-1 series win. For Smith, this was the second time he was celebrating lifting the Commissioner's Trophy, having won it once before, in 2020.

Soon after the Dodgers returned to the West Coast with the title, the squad and their families embarked on a bus tour of LA, as thousands of cheering fans packed the streets to celebrate with their heroes. Will took to Instagram to post a series of snaps from the victory parade.

"Thank you Dodger fans! Yesterday was unreal! Let's run it back next year!" Smith captioned the post

With a superb season, Smith will now look to spend plenty of quality time with his family and get rest after another grueling 162+ game campaign. The focus shifts back to baseball after the new year, with spring training typically starting at some point in early February.
