“Worst run organization in the league” - Angels fans upset as team exits postseason contention joining White Sox, Marlins and Rockies
The Los Angeles Angels will play the rest of the season, hoping to win a few games and call it a year. 2024 has not been kind to the Halos after they dropped several games right from the start. The early exit of Mike Trout and injury-prone players like Anthon Rendon made things worse.
With less than 20 days remaining in the regular season, the Halos have been eliminated from the postseason contention, joining the Chicago White Sox, Miami Marlins and Colorado Rockies. This comes after their miserable 10-5 defeat against the Minnesota Twins.
It's been a tough challenge for the team and they will likely finish at the bottom of the AL West Division. The club holds a 60-85 record, which puts them three games behind the Oakland Athletics and 17.5 games behind the Houston Astros at the top.
Their failure to qualify for the postseason has upset Angels fans as they took to social media to react on the same.
Here are some of the fan reactions on X (formerly Twitter).
"Worst run organization in the league," wrote one fan in disappointment.
"They’re content with the win against LA a couple days go they don’t care lol," wrote another fan.
"The worst run franchise in all of sports," another fan chimed in.
Comments continued to flow as some fans believe the team's misfortune will continue next season.
"Breaking: The Angels have also been eliminated from the playoffs in 2025," wrote one fan.
"Just save this post for Opening Day next season too," added one fan.
"Didnt that happen opening weekend?" asked one fan.
Angels place Ben Joyce and Anthony Rendon on the IL
Adding to the team's misery will be the absence of closer Ben Joyce. The Angels put Joyce on a 15-day injured list due to shoulder inflammation. It seems like Joyce will have only a few games left by the time he returns.
As for Rendon, he's spent more time on the injured list than playing on the field. Ron Washington looked for a promising season ahead, but their troubles have not gotten any better. It's been a disappointing year for Angles fans, and they can only hope for the team to return stronger.
