Yankees fans thrilled at new look spring training starting lineup featuring exciting prospect Anthony Volpe

It's been quite a busy past few months in the Bronx as the organization intensifies preparations for the much-awaited upcoming MLB season!

After a lot of chopping and changing over the past few weeks, the Yankees shared an updated lineup due to take on the Philadelphia Phillies in a practice game as they continued their spring pre-season training in full flow.

The line-up included a mix of different faces. New signings Rafael Ortega and Jake Bauers found a seat in the starting lineup, while the exciting rookies Anthony Volpe and Oswaldo Cabrera also made it to the fray. Yankees mainstays Aaron Judge, Luis Severino, and Aaron Hicks also featured.

Elated at the lineup announcement, Yankees fans flocked to Twitter to share their excitement.

Clearly unimpressed by center fielder Aaron Hicks's performances in the New York Yankees outfit, this fan calls for Hicks to be taken out of the team!

While the tussle for the shortstop position looks tight, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top. Which rookie will it be? Will it be Anthony Volpe, or will it be Oswald Peraza?

Nestor Cortes Jr. who's on his third stint with the Yankees, will expect to come big at some point this season. The wily pitcher made his first All-Star start last year and will be itching to contribute to the team's success this year.

Is New York ready for Volpe time?

Rookie shortstop Anthony Volpe is a special talent, and 2023 could just very well be the year he explodes.

The exciting rookie who's been knocking on the door for a while might finally get his chance to prove himself on the biggest stage. According to Yankees' play-by-play announcer Michael Kay, who calls games on the team's YES Network, Volpe has "a real shot" of making the opening day roster this year.

A team and fan base that are growing ever more impatient to win the World Series for the first time since 2009, could very well turn to Volpe as the trump card.

Only time will tell what the Yankees' No. 1 prospect, Anthony Volpe, does this season, but the future looks very bright.
