Yankees manager Aaron Boone joins elite company, ties Billy Martin with 556 wins
Aaron Boone's New York Yankees are one of the hottest teams in MLB his season. On Monday, the Yanks won their 47th game, after defeating the Kansas City Royals. It was a strong win for the team and a milestone outing for the team's manager.
Boone recorded his 556th career win as a Yankees manager. His record has placed him in elite company, joining Billy Martin who holds the same win record. Boone now ranks seventh among the Yankees managers with the most wins for the storied franchise.
Now that Boone has the same amount of wins that Billy Martin had, he will be in pursuit of crossing Joe Girardi who holds 910 wins.

Boone is expected to stay with the Yankees for some more time. That said, the 51-year-old will have many more opportunities with his team.
Aaron Boone heaps praise on Billy Martin
In a postgame interview with Yes Network, the Yankees manager was asked about his latest achievement. Boone seemed happy about it, but he praised former manager Billy Martin saying he was an amazing manager with a great playing career.
"An amazing manager amazing playing career. Certainly a storied history with this team. A lot of ups and downs, but I think in his time and his generation known as one of the great and really smart managers," Aaron Boone said on Billy Martin.
Aaron Boone further stated that he gives credit to the players and the people who surround him. He also mentioned that he has a deep respect for his position and the managers in his position before him.
"I've been fortunate to have a lot of great players out there that allowed me to win some games. It's more of a credit to the people you are surrounded with and the players you get. I certainly have a reverence for this chair and a reverence for the people that went before me," Boone said.
The Yankees hired Boone in the 2017 off-season. Since then, he has led the team into the postseason five times. The Yanks are looking for a World Series run this time and so far the team is looking like an early contender to contest for the ultimate glory in October.
