"You can trust Aaron Judge, Bryce Harper, Bobby Witt Jr. to be superstars" - World Series champion sees MLB trio as role models for young generations
Former MLB star and World Series champion Eric Hosmer believes that while some great players of today may not have won a championship, they are still role models for younger generations. The former Kansas City Royals star made a recent appearance on the popular podcast, "Casa De Klub", hosted by former MLB players Corey Kluber and Tyler Casagrande. After speaking on various topics, Hosmer spoke about some of the biggest names in the majors who have not won the Fall Classic in their careers:
"That's one thing in baseball that I appreciate right now, is our superstars, man. Like [Aaron Judge, [Bryce] Harper, Bobby Witt Jr. out there in Kansas City, they're just great f**king dudes, man, and guys that you can trust as our superstars because you know they're going to do things the right way," Hosmer said.
And now, you know, my son's two years old; I hope he looks up to Bobby Witt Jr., I hope he looks up to Aaron Judge, and that makes me feel good.," Hosmer added.
The likes of Judge, Harper and Witt Jr. have never won the World Series in their careers so far despite being among the best players in the country. Aaron Judge and Bryce Harper are both established veterans who have won multiple MVPs in the past while Witt Jr. is one of the most exciting young stars in the majors. While none of them have ever lifted the World Series title, they are still role models for the younger generation to look up to.
As a former Fall Classic winner himself, Eric Hosmer was asked about the importance of having a championship title to cement your legacy in the game. He said that while it does make a difference, there are plenty of players who will be remembered despite not having one. He singled out the trio as great role models for future players and fans in the country and beyond.
Aaron Judge named AL MVP award finalist after disappointing end to World Series run
After a disappointing World Series run for the New York Yankees, both Aaron Judge and Juan Soto have been named among the three finalists for the AL MVP award. Royals star Bobby Witt Jr. rounds up the list after his impressive breakout season in the MLB.
Judge once again put up impressive numbers in the regular season, finishing with a .322 average and 58 home runs, while Soto's arrival in New York inspired them to a deep postseason run. On the other hand, Witt Jr. recorded a second consecutive 30-30 season and guided the Royals to the ALDS.
