Yu Darvish's wife Seiko makes major announcement, prompting Helen Maroulis' excitement
The Darvish family just got a little bit bigger and a whole lot cuter. San Diego Padres pitcher Yu Darvish's wife, Seiko Darvish, had an exciting update to share on Thursday.
Seiko is Darvish's second wife. She is a former world-champion wrestler and sister of the late MMA fighter Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto. The couple reportedly got married in 2016 and are now parents of five children. Seiko also has a son from a previous marriage to handball player Hideaki Nagashima, while Darvish has two sons from his previous marriage with Japanese model and actress Saeko.
On Thursday, she shared that the Darvish family has adopted a new rescue puppy named Leaf. In her heartfelt post, Seiko introduced the adorable pup to fans with a caption that read:
“New addition to the family ❤️ It’s Reef 🌊 #保護犬. Hello, my name is Leaf 🌿💕 I’m the new family member of Darvish family ❤️ #rescuedog.”
Olympic gold medalist Helen Maroulis was among the first to show her love. She couldn’t contain her excitement, commenting:
“Kawaii!!!!!” followed by a string of heart-eyed emojis.
Seiko made a humorous post shortly after adopting Leaf. She wrote:
"What is a belly button? and looked up. Lmfaooooo"
Yu Darvish's wife Seiko celebrates birthday of her third son with heartfelt ice cream surprise
Earlier in March, Yu Darvish's wife Seiko celebrated the birthday of her third son, whose name wasn't revealed. She posted a glimpse from the celebration, featuring a homemade birthday ice cream cake.
Her caption revealed her love for her third son while saying that she took matters into her own hands to make the day extra special.
“It’s my #3 son’s birthday 🎂,” she wrote, adding, “I made birthday ice cream plate for him instead of [a] cake. The kids were so happy with it.”
She shared a photo of colorful Baskin-Robbins ice cream tubs, including Mint Chocolate Chip and Vanilla, surrounded by small cups of candy-topped treats.
She revealed starting the morning with a hug from her son.
“Started the morning with a hug to say thank you for being born to the moms 🥹💓,” she wrote.
On the baseball front, Yu Darvish is yet to pitch in the 2025 MLB season as he progresses towards returning after suffering right elbow inflammation.
