Ahead of the New York Yankees' second game of the series against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday, Aaron Judge shared the frame with renowned comedian Shane Gillis at Citizens Bank Park.
A native of Pennsylvania, Gillis is a popular name in comedy and rose to prominence over the last decade. He most notably starred in the Netflix comedy series 'Tires,' a show he co-created with fellow comedian John McKeever.
Gilis, who wore a Bryce Harper jersey on his visit to the game on Tuesday, was also seen having a heartfelt conversation with the Yankees captain prior to the second game of the series between the MLB heavyweights.
Gillis recently caught the limelight for his viral impression of former American President Donald Trump on the 'Kill Tony' show earlier this month. He had a back-and-forth with another comedian impersonating President Joe Biden.
Aaron Judge gives plaudits to Yankees teammates after thrilling win
The Yankees were pushed to the limits, especially their bullpen, in a thrilling second game of the series against the Phillies on Tuesday night. While Gerrit Cole's absence hurt the starting rotation, Clay Holmes conceded in the ninth inning to send the game into extra innings.
While newcomer Jazz Chisholm Jr. stole the limelight with a second consecutive multi-homer game for the Yankees, it was veteran reliever Michael Tonkin who kept his cool in a tense 12th inning to earn the win for the Bronx Bombers.
Tonkin, who had conceded the game-tying single in the 11th, struck out Weston Wilson swinging to register a nail-biting win for the Yankees. Yankees captain Aaron Judge praised the reliever following his resolute display.
“He stayed locked in the whole time,” Judge said of Tonkin. “He was clutch for us tonight.”
Aaron Judge also had rave reviews for Jazz Chisholm Jr., who has been nothing short of electric in his three games for the franchise so far.
“It looks like he’s been playing there his whole life,” Judge added. “He brings a great energy. He runs the bases well. I kind of like having him in the middle of the lineup. He’s doing some damage, getting on base. He’s been a big part.”
The Yankees have won their second consecutive series and will be hoping to sweep the Phillies by winning the final game on Wednesday.
