Tyler Anderson Trade Rumors - Dodgers could key in on Angels pitcher as club shuts down Clayton Kershaw with shoulder soreness
Tyler Anderson's name has been popping up more in recent trade rumors, especially with the news that the Los Angeles Dodgers shut down Clayton Kershaw. While trying to make his way from the IL, the veteran lefty has experienced a sore shoulder and will not throw for at least a week.
The club also lost Yoshinobu Yamamoto for some time. He was placed on the 15-day IL because of a rotator cuff strain, but the team is uncertain about when he can return.
Given the state of the rotation and the high expectations coming into the season, the Blue Crew must acquire some arms. This is where Anderson comes into play, having experience playing for the team back in 2022, securing his only All-Star game appearance.
That year, he started 30 games, compiling a 15-5 record, 2.57 ERA, and 138 strikeouts over the course of 178.2 innings of work. Those were all career highs for the lefty.
This season, he has started 15 games, compiling a 6-7 record with a 2.48 ERA. He has been tough to score runs on, and the Dodgers could certainly make a trade happen.
Tyler Anderson needs more help from the offense
After his time with the Dodgers was up, Tyler Anderson signed a three-year deal with the Los Angeles Angels. Unfortunately, he did not look like the All-Star that he was during the 2022 season.
Anderson finished the year with a 5.43 ERA across 25 starts, and the fanbase was not impressed. However, he has completely turned it around this season.
During his latest start against the Milwaukee Brewers, he went seven strong innings, giving up just one run while striking out five batters. However, his club did not have his back, and they ended up losing the game 2-0.
