"Thankful everyday for you" - Jackson Holliday's wife Chloe shares sweet Thanksgiving message dedicated to Orioles rookie
As 2024 draws to a close, Jackson Holliday certainly has a lot to be thankful for. This year, the 20-year-old's dream of following his father's footsteps to MLB and hitting his first career home run came true.
By his side throughout the vast majority of this journey has been Holliday's wife, Chloe. In honor of Thanksgiving on Thursday, Chloe took to Instagram to share her gratitude for her husband, and the relationship that they have constructed together.
In her assortment of stories, Chloe posed with the Baltimore Orioles rookie, claiming to be 'thankful everyday for you." She also posted an image of their Thanksgiving meal, which appeared to originate from Erewhon, an upscale supermarket chain based in Los Angeles.
Chloe and Jackson first met when they were both students at Stillwater High School in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Jackson is the eldest son of former St. Louis Cardinals slugger Matt Holliday, whose career inspired the shortstop to make a big-league run of his own.
Bound by their shared Christian faith, Chloe and Jackson have put religion at the center of their relationship. Despite both being in their very early twenties, their shared devotion led them to their marriage, which occured in January of this year.
"JACKSON HOLLIDAY FIRST CAREER HOMER IS A GRAND SLAM" - Talkin' Baseball
After originally being called up in April, Jackson Holliday struggled at the dish, and was sent down. After being recalled to the O's lineup in the summer, Holliday hammered his first career home run - a grand slam - against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays on July 31, 2024.
2024 was a season of learning for Jackson Holliday
In 60 games for the O's in 2023, Holliday hit .189 with 5 homers and 23 RBIs. A solid start, Holliday knows that those figures will need to built on. As the 20 year-old reflected to MLB.com after the end of the season:
“I’ve gone through stints where I’m like, ‘OK, this is how I thought I would be as a player.’ But I mean, I got beat up a little bit, “I think I’ll be better for it and have a better idea of how I want to attack this offseason and leading up into Spring Training.”
Still young, Holliday's career undoubtedly has copious peaks and valleys in store. However, with his wife Chloe by his side, loving support and encouragement will never be far.
