Today’s Best MLB Home Run Prop Bets: Top 5 picks including Juan Soto, Giancarlo Stanton, and more for October 17, 2024

Hitting a home run is both incredibly difficult and one of the most common ways to score in the postseason. It's much harder to get multiple hits in a row against elite pitching in the playoffs, so teams often score by home runs.

Fortunately, both the ALCS and NLCS are on today. That means there are two games to choose from. There are still only 36, give or take, batters who you can choose from, but it's as big a selection as there can be right now. We've got the best picks from DraftKings for you. Yesterday, we successfully predicted Shohei Ohtani's homer.

5) Jose Ramirez: +600

Jose Ramirez may have finally broken out of his slump, hitting a solo home run in the ninth off of previously unhittable closer Luke Weaver. Today, Ramirez will get to face Clarke Schmidt (0-0, 3.86 ERA in playoffs) and hit from the left side. Perhaps that home run, plus his 39 in the regular season, will get the Cleveland Guardians star going at home.

4) Juan Soto: +450

Juan Soto does have to face a lefty in Matthew Boyd (0-0 with a 0.00 ERA in playoffs) today, but the lefty-lefty matchup never really impacted him. He also hit 41 home runs in the regular season and has one in the postseason as well, so the New York Yankees outfielder is a good pick once again today.

3) Pete Alonso: +380

Pete Alonso and the New York Mets struggled mightily in Game 3 against Walker Buehler. Tonight, they have a chance to redeem themselves against Yoshinobu Yamamoto (1-0, 5.63 ERA in playoffs). Alonso is usually the best home run hitter for the Mets, and he's going to get a chance to hit one tonight.

2) Giancarlo Stanton: +300

Giancarlo Stanton has been hot all postseason and he is one of the most prolific home run hitters of all time. The Yankees slugger gets the hand advantage against Boyd tonight, and he very well could connect with another and continue to haunt the Guardians in October.

1) Aaron Judge: +270

Aaron Judge finally broke through with a huge two-run home run off of Hunter Gaddis. The slugger could easily use that to start really raking in the playoffs, something he hasn't done yet. It was his first homer this postseason after 58 of them in the regular season.
