Today’s Best MLB Home Run Prop Bets: Top 5 picks including Yordan Alvarez, Francisco Lindor, and more for October 2nd, 2024
Today, the MLB Wild Card Series rolls on, and there should be some home runs hit. There weren't many on Tuesday since the pitchers everyone faced were so much better, but there were two homers hit in all contests yesterday. One of them was a successful prediction in our prop bets guide, so we're back with the best bets from DraftKings for Wednesday's games.
Best MLB home run prop bets for October 2
5) Gunnar Henderson: +600
Gunnar Henderson and the Baltimore Orioles did not have a good showing yesterday, but today should, in theory, be better. The player does have to match up with the Kansas City Royals' Seth Lugo (16-9, 3.00 ERA), but he did hit 37 home runs during the regular season.
4) Matt Olson: +425
Matt Olson finished moderately well down the stretch, closing with 29 home runs during the regular season. The Atlanta Braves were totally blanked by the San Diego Padres' Michael King yesterday but could bounce back against Joe Musgrove (6-5, 3.88 ERA) today. Olson has the hand advantage in that matchup.
3) Kyle Tucker: +425
Kyle Tucker and the Houston Astros have a much better matchup today since they're not facing Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal. Instead, the lefty slugger will take on lefty Tyler Holton (7-2, 2.19 ERA). This does not provide a hand advantage to Tucker, but it's a much more manageable matchup than yesterday's.
2) Francisco Lindor: +350
Francisco Lindor finished on a tear, hitting two home runs in the New York Mets' final three games, the last of which he did not play. He seems to have fully rebounded from injury and is red-hot, so he could add to his postseason resume with another blast today vs. Frankie Montas (7-11, 4.84 ERA) and the Milwaukee Brewers.
1) Yordan Alvarez: +295
Just like with Kyle Tucker, Yordan Alvarez has a much better matchup today. He recorded two hits in the game yesterday, one against Skubal, so the matchup doesn't always hurt him, but he could really do some damage against Holton and the rest of the Tigers bullpen. He hit 35 home runs in the regular season.
