Today's Top MLB Pitchers' Strikeouts Prop Bets: 5 Picks including Hunter Greene, Garrett Crochet and more for July 28th, 2024

Striking batters out is what MLB pitchers are asked to do the vast majority of the time. Naturally, some are better than others, and sometimes, they earn a lot of punchouts. Picking how many they might get on a given day is a challenging but growing prop bet in MLB gambling. For July 28, the following are the bets you should have your eyes on.

Hunter Greene has been good at striking batters out with his 27.5% K rate. However, he's being asked to record eight today against the surging Tampa Bay Rays. The odds do not like his chances of doing so, as he is overwhelming to go under 7.5 on July 28.

4) Cole Ragans: Over 6.5 -155

Cole Ragans has been very good for the Kansas City Royals this season. He's done well in the strikeout department as well, with a 29.1% K rate and nearly 11 strikeouts per nine innings. Look for him to get at least seven today vs. the listless Chicago Cubs.

3) Jose Soriano: Under 5.5 -145

Jose Soriano of the Los Angeles Angels is facing the Oakland Athletics today, but the odds don't like his chances of racking up the strikeouts. The young pitcher is striking out less than 20% of batters faced, so it is hard to imagine him hitting the over.

2) Garrett Crochet: Under 7.5 -145

While Garrett Crochet has been spectacular all season (especially with strikeouts: 35.1% K rate and 12.69 K/9), he faces a tough task today. The Chicago White Sox ace, who may be making his final start for them, has to face the new and improved Seattle Mariners. Though they strike out a lot, getting to eight is a tall task.

1) Carlos Rodon: Under 7.5 -160

There are a couple of things working against Carlos Rodon today. First, the New York Yankees starter (last start notwithstanding) has been really bad for a long while now. Second, the line is high at 7.5. Even on a good day, he might not record eight strikeouts.
