Today's Top MLB Pitchers Strikeouts Prop Bets: 5 picks including Nathan Eovaldi, Cristopher Sanchez and more for Aug. 29, 2024
Each MLB starting pitcher will record more than a few strikeouts every day. Even if they don't pitch all that well, they more than likely had a few strikeouts. Predicting how many with regard to an over/under line is not easy, and it depends on a lot of factors. To make this part of the prop bet a little easier, we've compiled the best bets from DraftKings to keep an eye out for today (Aug. 29).
Best MLB strikeout prop bets for Aug. 29
5) Nathan Eovaldi: Under 6.5 -155
Nathan Eovaldi has been solid but unspectacular in the strikeout department for the Texas Rangers. He has a 23.7% K rate and a disappointing 8.66 K/9. Those numbers, combined with a high over/under line, mean he's unlikely to mow down even the Chicago White Sox lineup today.
4) Cristopher Sanchez: Over 4.5 -160
Cristopher Sanchez has been good for the Philadelphia Phillies, though not really in the strikeout department. He's sporting a low 19.1% K rate. However, even against the Atlanta Braves, his line is too low to consider taking the under today.
3) Sonny Gray: Over 4.5 -150
Sonny Gray has been good for the St. Louis Cardinals, and that is partly due to a 30.4% K rate. His line is shockingly low today at 4.5, and he's up against the San Diego Padres. This is an easy pick to make, as the over is just too enticing to pass up.
2) Bradley Blalock: Under 4.5 -165 (safest pick of the day)
Despite a solid track record thus far (including a stellar outing against the vaunted New York Yankees) and a good matchup, Bradley Blalock is our safest pick of the day. His line is low, but he's pitching in Coors Field, where even the Miami Marlins can hit well.
1) Julian Aguiar: Under 4.5 -105 (bold prediction of the day)
Julian Aguiar is making his second start of the season today, so he doesn't have much experience. Our bold prediction is that he won't pass the admittedly low bar of 4.5 strikeouts. The Oakland Athletics have been decent on offense, so look for Aguiar to hit the under.
