Today's Top MLB Pitchers Strikeouts Prop Bets: 5 picks including Ryan Pepiot, Cole Ragans and more for August 26th, 2024
MLB starters usually get a lot of strikeouts, but some games don't feature as many. That's where the over/under line in this prop bet comes into play. It's the bettor's job to predict whether the pitcher will have more or less than a usually well-derived line.
To that end, we've got the picks you should keep an eye on today. Yesterday, two of our picks hit.
Best MLB strikeout prop bets for August 26
5) Ryan Pepiot: Over 6.5 -140
Ryan Pepiot sports a solid 26.2% K rate this season for the Tampa Bay Rays and a 9.49 K/9 to boot. He's been solid in the strikeout department and today he is up against the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners' struggling offense strikes out more than all other offenses in baseball this season.
4) Bailey Ober: Over 5.5 -155
Bailey Ober has also been solid in the strikeout area for the Minnesota Twins: 26.3% K rate and 9.32 K/9. The starter has a decent and far from insurmountable over/under line and despite facing the Atlanta Braves has good odds of getting six or more strikeouts today.
3) Cole Ragans: Under 6.5 -155
Cole Ragans has been fantastic for the Kansas City Royals this season, and that is partly due to a 29.3% strikeout rate and 10.81 K/9. A key divisional matchup against the Cleveland Guardians, a team that doesn't strike out as much as others, suggests that the 2024 All-Star won't pass the 6.5 mark.
2) Max Fried: Over 4.5 -160 (Safest pick of the day)
Max Fried's line is very low today for the Atlanta Braves. He's been a little underwhelming with strikeouts (22.3% K rate, 8.32 K/9) but he is facing the Twins and 4.5 is one of the lowest lines today. Pick him with confidence as he's the safest pick today.
1) Nick Pivetta: Over 5.5 +100 (Bold Prediction of the day)
Nick Pivetta is the bold prediction today. The Boston Red Sox star does have to face the Toronto Blue Jays, who have a couple of fearsome hitters, but that's why it's bold. His line isn't a "gimme," either, but a 28.9% K rate and 10.68 K/9 metrics suggest he's capable of surpassing it.
