When Atlanta Braves star Chipper Jones' constant infidelity compelled his wife to file for divorce

Atlanta Braves legend and HOFer Chipper Jones' back-to-back infidelities compelled his first wife, Dr. Karin Luise, to file for divorce in 2000.

Chipper and Karin tied the knot in 1992 while Chipper was playing in the minor leagues. Initially, things were fine, but soon there was trouble in paradise. In 1998, Chipper's scandalous extramarital affair with a Hooters waitress led to the birth of an illegitimate child, Matthew.

Karin was devastated as another woman was carrying Chipper's baby as she struggled to conceive a child with Jones.

However, Karin and Chipper decided to give their marriage another chance. However, one night, she got a call from a California-based man who informed her that Jones was having a fling with the man’s wife.

“I finally had to wake up and face reality, Luise said explaining Jones' second extramarital affair was the final straw.

Being a Christian, Karin's notion was that women do not get divorced. However, after suffering for a long time, she settled on the decision to separate from the former Atlanta Braves third baseman.

After Atlanta Braves star Chipper Jones' estranged wife, Karin Luise, discovered the news of his second infidelity, she asked the MLB HOFer to move out of the house. Interestingly, without any protest, he complied with Karin's order and moved in with his then-girlfriend the very next day.

After divorcing Chipper in 2000, Luise completed her Master’s degree at Georgia State University. She then pursued and received her Ph.D. in psychology from the same institution.
