When Chicago Cubs pitcher Marcus Stroman challenged MLB analyst Bob Brenly for racially insensitive remark
In June 2021, former Chicago Cubs All-Star pitcher Marcus Stroman challenged MLB analyst Bob Brenly for a racially insensitive remark.
Back then, Marcus was playing with New York Mets. Apparently, Brenly made a dig at Stroman's covered head during the fourth inning of an MLB game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
"Pretty sure that's the same durag that Tom Seaver used to wear when he pitched for the Mets," said Brentley.
Brenly's remarks didn't sit well with Stroman, and after the game, the All-Star pitcher took matters into his own hand. He took to Twitter to call out the MLB analyst.
"Onward and upward. ... through all adversity and racist undertones. The climb continues through all," wrote Marcus in a tweet.

MLB fans were in full support of Stroman's stance and appreciated him for raising a voice toward the insensitive racial overtones of Brentley.
Former New York Mets manager denounced Bob Brenly's comment towards Marcus Stroman
Following the team's 6-5 loss to Arizona Diamondbacks, former New York Mets manager Luis Rojas expressed his anger with MLB analyst Bob Bretley's hard-hearted remark toward Marcus Stroman.
"There is no room for a comment like that," Rojas said. "Completely inappropriate. I was very disappointed when I heard it. If it was like a joke or something, I didn't get it, and I know a lot of people didn't get it.
"When you are on a platform in this game and you have a chance to inform and educate throughout the game or after the game, you just have so many opportunities to keep the audience active and fill them with baseball knowledge and not the case there."

Afterward, Bob Brenly apologized for his spur-of-the-moment comment in a statement issued through the Arizona Diamondbacks.
