When Chipper Jones' ex-wife congratulated the Atlanta Braves icon on his HOF induction despite their tumultuous conjugal history

In February 2018, Chipper Jones' first wife, Karin Fulford, congratulated the Atlanta Braves legend as he headed to the Hall of Fame despite their tumultuous conjugal history.

Karin and Chipper met while he was playing for the Atlanta Braves Class A club in Georgia. The lovebirds tied the knot in 1992 and divorced after eight years in 2000 when it was revealed that the former third baseman had an 18-month extramarital affair with a Hooters waitress. It was challenging for Karin since she had to deal with her husband's infidelity while struggling to conceive a child.

From watching Chipper's MLB debut with Atlanta to witnessing him clinch the World Series title, Karin had been with her husband all along. The former third baseman also became an All-Star three times (1996–1998, 2000), bagged the NL MVP award (1999), and won the Silver Slugger Award twice (1999, 2000) while he was married to Karin.

18 years after their divorce, when Karin learned the news of Jones' HOF induction, she couldn't contain her happiness and congratulated him in a heartwarming FB post:

"From my heart, I want to congratulate Chipper for making it into the Hall of Fame. He was an incredibly talented, passionate ball player. We had quite a ride together from the years in the minor leagues through injuries, the strike, the highs and lows, the best World Series ever … and all the rest."

Ahead of his Hall of Fame induction, Braves legend Chipper was a little nervous because his third wife, Taylor Higgins, was due to give birth to their second son, Cooper. So much so that he taped his MLB Hall of Fame induction speech in case the baby arrived before the scheduled time.

However, the little munchkin arrived on August 9, 2018, making them a family of four.
