When former MLB star Jose Canseco was arrested following his alleged attack on estranged wife
In November 1997, former Oakland Athletics star Jose Canseco was arrested following an alleged attack on his estranged second wife, Jessica. As per the police report, he struck her in the head and face during an argument in a friend's car in Miami. Jose was thus accused of a first-degree misdemeanor, which carries a one-year prison sentence.
"Victim (Jessica) susustained a bruise under the left eye. Defendant stated that during the argument he (Jose Canseco) grabbed her by the hair to get her attention," said domestic violence detective Melissa Ponder.

Jessica met Jose while working as a waitress at Hooters in Cleveland. On Aug. 27, 1996, the couple tied the knot only to get divorced in 1999. The assault took place while Jose and Jessica were going through a divorce.

The rivalry between Jose Canseco and Alex Rodriguez is not new to MLB fans. However, things took an interesting turn in March 2019 when Jose accused engaged A-Rod of cheating on Jennifer Lopez with his ex-wife, Jessica Canseco.
Taking to Twitter, Jose wrote:
“Watching World of Dance watching J.Lo text Alex Rodriguez little does she know that he is cheating on her with my ex-wife Jessica poor girl she has no idea who he really is."
In another tweet, the former MLB star added:
“I was there a few months back with her when he called her on her phone.”
Jose displayed his social media antics after Alex and Jennifer announced their engagement news in March 2019.
