When HOFer Wade Boggs opened up about his wife's struggles to accept his infidelity
As per a June 1989 Los Angeles Times news piece, Boston Red Sox star and HOFer Wade Boggs spoke about his wife, Debbie's disappointment with the former third baseman's constant infidelity.
Boggs testified two months after Margo Adams, his ex-girlfriend and a mortgage broker revealed shocking information about their adulterous connection following their breakup.
Apparently, Adams sued Boggs for mental anguish and violation of oral contract when Boggs broke up the relationship in 1988, asking for $12 million in the settlement. Next, Adams decided to participate in an interview with Penthouse magazine where she detailed her intimacy with Boggs, which further ruined his reputation. Adams also disclosed that she had been travelling with Boggs since 1984 on baseball road trips and has been paid annually by him for her company.
During Wade's affair with Adams, the HOFer's deepest fear was getting caught by his wife, Debbie. He also mentioned how his wife was fine with his casual hookups but would struggle to come to terms with a long-term affair.
“One-night stands are acceptable, but two-year affairs are not,” said the 12x All-Star.

However, Wade's attempt to hide the relationship from his wife failed terribly, as the hideous affair ended up becoming a national news.
Wade Boggs and Debbie Bertucelli are still together
MLB legend Wade Boggs and Debbie Bertucelli are still together despite the HOFer's highly publicised adulterous affair. The two have been together for around 48 years, having first began dating in 1975.
Debbie Bertucelli and Boggs met in high school and clicked right away. Shortly after Wade made his minor league (baseball) debut, he asked Bertucelli to marry him.
