Anthony Volpe had left off with an RBI single before Giancarlo Stanton just fell short of a grand slam with a three-run triple. The Cards were able to close out in the ninth for the win.

The two teams have pitched decently in this series, and Sunday's game is expected to be another tough encounter between both pitching staffs. Miles Mikolas (8-10, 5.23 ERA) starts on the mound for the Cardinals. Even though Mikolas' overall stat line is concerning, on the road the Cards pitcher has a 7-5 record and a 4.54 ERA.
On the other side of the duel will be the red-hot, in-form Nestor Cortes Jr. After suffering a stretch of bad starts that dropped him to a 5-10 record and a 4.42 ERA, Cortes is 3-0 over his last three starts and has earned just one run, a solo home run in his last start against the Washington Nationals.
