2024 Paris Olympics Men's Basketball gold medal odds ahead of semifinals
After an entertaining opening round of games and quarterfinals at the 2024 Paris Olympics men's basketball event, only four teams are left standing. France will have a boisterous home crowd behind it at the Bercy Arena when it faces Germany in the opening semi-finals game on Thursday. That will be followed up a mouth-watering matchup between the United States and Serbia.
Germany has been one of the most exciting teams at the tournament with the Wagner brothers (Franz and Moritz) and Dennis Schroder leading a dynamic and high-flying offense. France showed a level of intensity and quality in its quarterfinal win over Canada that has been lacking. Serbia will look to three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic to get the team across the finish line.
With a talented group of future Hall of Famers and NBA-All-Stars, the United States remain the heavy favorites to take home the gold medal.
The Olympics men's basketball final will take place on Saturday and we take a look at each team's odds as we approach the semifinals.

2024 Paris Olympics Men's Basketball gold medal odds
#4. France (+2400)
There is not much faith in the host nation after a string of underwhelming outings in the group stage. France finished with a 2-1 record in the opening round but was lucky to escape with a victory against a spirited Japan side.
One positive for Vincent Collet's side is that it is coming off its best performance of the tournament so far. A comprehensive 82-73 win over Canada saw four player finish with double-digits in the points column. Guerschon Yabusele and Isaia Cordinier both showed that they are capable of carrying the offense if necessary.
#3. Serbia (+1600)
Serbia will consider itself lucky to be alive after scrapping through in a thrilling 95-90 overtime win over Australia in the quarterfinal. The team trailed by as many as 24 points but a valiant third-quarter fightback showed just how dangerous this offense can be.
The United States stand in the way of Serbia. Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic was spectacular in the team's win over Australia and will have to be at his best if Serbia has any chance of upsetting Team USA.
#2. Germany (+650)
Germany is the in-form team coming into the final four after a series of dominant performances. Led by a potent offense, Germany has a perfect 4-0 record at the tournament and has won every game by at least 13 points or more.
Coach Gordie Herbert has done an exceptional job of getting all his players involved during the competition. If Dennis Schroder, Franz Wagner, Moritz Wagner and Daniel Theis can continue to produce the way they have so far, Germany has a realistic shot at its first-ever Olympics men's basketball gold medal.
#1. United States (-600)
With superstars such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant leading the way, it is no surprise that the United States are the heavy favorites. The team has a perfect 9-0 record in the event and warm up games coming into the semifinals.
Steve Kerr's starting lineup versus Brazil had a combined 43 All-Star appearances between them and there are four former NBA MVPs on the roster.
The USA's toughest challenge came against Serbia in the opening round and it passed that test with flying colors. The Americans will face off against the European side once again in the semifinals as they go in search of a fifth consecutive Olympics men's basketball gold medal.
