Rules of 3x3 Olympic Basketball event
Unlike 5x5 basketball, the 3x3 event will take place on half of a basketball court and pit three players from each of the two competing nations' teams against one another. Depending on who possesses the ball, both teams will attack and defend the same hoop.
The teams will attempt to win the game by either being the first to reach 21 points or by having the highest total in 10 minutes of playtime.
Moreover, unlike 5x5 basketball, the 3-point line serves as the two-point line in 3x3 basketball. Shots made from inside the line will count for one point and shots made from beyond the arc will earn two points.
