3 NBA stars who love Lego feat. Myles Turner

NBA players have all kinds of hobbies off the court. Steph Curry loves to play golf, Damian Lillard loves recording rap albums, and Jimmy Butler loves playing cards. While many others enjoy building artistic models using small interlocking plastic bricks. With that, let's look at three NBA players who love Lego.

3 NBA stars who love Lego

#1 Myles Turner

Indiana Pacers star Myles Turner may easily be the NBA player who loves Legos the most. He often shares his Lego projects on social media and has garnered quite a reputation as a Lego fanatic with his remarkable collection of models.

During a press conference ahead of a matchup against the LA Lakers last season, Turner clarified that his excitement for building legos is a serious matter.

“I build Legos. I don’t play with Legos,” Turner told reporters. “That’s literally all I do on my down time. I get back to the crib I kind of just … it’s a way for me to take my mind off things. … I’ve already built 12 different projects. … I’ve gone through a 120,000 Legos since the season started.”

According to SLAM, Myles Turner's parents prevented him from playing video games frequently and encouraged him to build Legos.

“So while they were playing video games, I would always go to the back room and start building stuff and just make all my little imaginations and all this stuff come to real life,” Turner told SLAM. “I just never really looked back. My dad’s the one who really introduced me to it. And I kind of took it and made it my own.”

For Turner, building something magnificent using small pieces of Legos is a therapeutic process. He spends hours every day creating new artistic projects and does not care what anyone thinks of his hobby.

#2 Dereck Lively

No other NBA player comes close to sharing Myles Turner's passion for Legos. However, Dallas Mavericks forward Dereck Lively showed off his impressive collection on TikTok before the Mavericks' 2024 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics in May.

Lively's collection included many historical buildings such as the Colosseum, Pyramid of Giza, Statue of Liberty and a model of the Avenger's Tower.

#3 Victor Wembanyama

Last NBA season's Rookie of the Year, Victor Wembanyama, is also a big fan of Legos. During the interview before the 2023 NBA Draft, he was asked what his first purchase would be with the big sum he would earn by joining the league.

The French player didn't mention a flashy sports car or diamond-crusted jewelry. Rather, he had his eyes set on an $850 Lego set of the Star Wars franchise's Millennium Falcon.
