3 times Kanye West attacked NBA stars online, featuring his tussle with Michael Jordan, and more
Over the years, Kanye West has become a polarizing figure in the media. This is mainly because the hip-hop star has never been afraid scared to speak his mind on any topic.
That being said, here are three instances where he attacked stars in and around the NBA.
#1 Kanye West vs. Michael Jordan
First up on the list is Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan. The two have had dust-ups in the past because West has wanted to meet the NBA legend, but the feelings haven't been mutual. It's worth noting that West grew up in Chicago after being born in Atlanta.
In an attempt to get Michael Jordan's attention, Kanye West took slight jabs at him in his songs. On one track, he even mentioned he would buy the Bulls for the sole purpose of getting to meet Jordan.
One of MJ's sons also tried to set up a meeting between the two, but it seems the six-time champ had no interest in doing so. Only time will tell if he ever decides to have a change of heart.
#2 Kanye West takes a jab at Kris Humphries
Up until recently, Kanye West was married to reality TV star Kim Kardashian. Before the two got together, she was married to Kris Humphries for a brief period. The former lottery pick played in the NBA for 13 seasons and made appearances on nine different teams.
Once West and Kardashian started dating, he opened up on the lengths he went to try and stop her previous relationship. The rap star constantly reached out to her and did everything he could to try and stop her from marrying Humphries.
Similar to Jordan, West used his music to take jabs at the NBA forward. In one song, he talked about getting Humphries cut from the Nets because of his connection with Jay-Z, who was an owner at the time.
#3 Kanye West criticizes Shaquille O'Neal's business idea
West's latest target was LA Lakers legend Shaquille O'Neal. He had some choice words for the Hall of Fame big man regarding the Kyrie Irving situation.
After Shaq made harsh comments at Irving for posting a link to an anti-Semitic movie on Twitter, West went after him. He said the former MVP only attacked Irving as a business decision.
Shaq quickly replied and let the world know that business had nothing to do with his comments towards Irving.
Seeing that West is never afraid to speak his mind, there is no telling who his next target could be.
