Anthony Davis rocks $2,449 Burberry jacket with Union LA x Air Jordan 2s worth $225
Los Angeles Lakers superstar big man Anthony Davis showcased his crisp fashion sense ahead of their NBA In-Season Tournament road game against the Trail Blazers on Friday night at the Moda Center in Portland,
"AD" rocked a sleek Burberry jacket and paired it with Union LA x Air Jordan 2s as he strutted his way to their team’s locker room.
As per the retail website Vitkac.com, the green Burberry jacket costs $2,449. It is made of cotton and features a two-way zip, lamb fur collar, blue stitching at the back, two snap pockets and ribbed trims at the hem and cuffs.
The Union LA x Air Jordan 2s, meanwhile, are a collaboration between Los Angeles-based streetwear designer Chris Gibbs with the Jordan Brand and boast of a ‘Rattan’ colorway. Each pair costs $225. The colorway features a combination of suede and leather.
While he was dressed impressively pre-game, Davis was looking to translate it to his performance against the Trail Blazers, where they hope to keep their record unblemished in the NBA In-Season Tournament, currently standing at 2-0.
For the season, the eight-time NBA All-Star has been averaging 22.1 points, 11.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.4 blocks in 36 minutes for the 6-6 Lakers, who are second in the Pacific Division.
The Lakers play in West Group A in the In-Season tournament, which is being featured for the first time this season to add dimension to the league year. The tournament has a similar format to that of in-season European football tournaments and the WNBA Commissioner's Cup. All 30 NBA teams are competing in games set from Nov. 3 to Dec. 9.
Anthony Davis wants to play more power forward this season
Anthony Davis signed a lucrative three-year, $186-million max extension to stay with the Los Angeles Lakers in the offseason. Part of his decision was the understanding that he would play more of the power forward position in the ongoing NBA season.
NBA Analyst Dave McMenamin of ESPN surmised that was the reason why the Lakers moved to get help for the center spot, acquiring the services of Jaxson Hayes and Christian Wood to allow "AD" the flexibility to slide to the fourth spot in the majority of their games.
He said:
“Ever since he joined the Lakers, Anthony Davis said he does not like playing the five that much and like playing a lot of minutes at the four… Last season [according to available data] he played 99% of his minutes at the five.”
McMenamin added:
“He made it known with the Lakers brass that he wanted to be part of the organization moving forward. I love my time with the Lakers. This was the time he was negotiating a contract extension which he signed this summer. ‘But give me some help at the five.'
"This allows him to feel comfortable going through the 82-game grind."
Anthony Davis has so far found himself playing some four in the ongoing season. More importantly, he has been healthy, playing in 11 of their 12 games so far.
