Are there any NBA Players with famous siblings not in the NBA?
While a lot of NBA players are seen as larger-than-life superstars, they're also just like any other person who grew up with a family and strived for their goals. With that in mind, some basketball players have siblings who've put in the work to pursue a different career path and fulfil their own dreams.
Having said that, let's take a look at some siblings of players who are just as popular as them.
#1 Valerie Adams (Steven Adams' sister)
Dame Valerie Kasanita Adams, better known as Valerie Adams, is a retired shot putter. Adams won many championships throughout her career. She's an Olympic gold medalist, a four-time World Athletics champion, a four-time World Indoor champion, three-time Commonwealth Games champion, and a two-time IAAF Continental Cup winner.
It's clear that the Adams family was born to be athletes. Unfortunately, Steven Adams is yet to achieve the same success in the NBA. He is currently playing for the Memphis Grizzlies and is out with a right knee injury. Steven's most notable season was with the OKC Thunder, where he was able to average over 10 points per game in four seasons.
#2 Scott Duncan (Tim Duncan's brother)
Not every sibling in an athletic family will turn out to be an athlete. Tim Duncan's brother, Scott Duncan, is a primary example of this. Scott is a well-known cinematographer in the media industry. He's been nominated for over 30 Emmy Awards and has won over 10 of those nominations. He worked with the likes of Bon Jovi and Martha Stewart in his career.
While Scott Duncan was out collecting Emmy awards, his younger brother Tim Duncan was in the NBA gathering Finals rings. Staying loyal to the San Antonio Spurs, Tim was a five-time champion, three-time Finals MVP, two-time NBA league MVP, and 15-time All-Star. The Duncan brothers have undoubtedly achieved great success in their respective careers.
