"At the end of the day it's my decision" - Bronny James reportedly closing in on his college commitment
Bronny James has been one of the most followed high school basketball players in the modern era. The son of LeBron James, Bronny is narrowing in on his college choice and has most recently been playing at the Team USA camp, where he was asked about his future plans a great deal.
Following Team USA Camp at the Nike Hoops Summit in which Bronny was among the 26 players named to the roster, he opened up a little about his future plans. When a reporter asked his thoughts on some of his teammates saying they were recruiting Bronny for their respective schools, Bronny James replied:
"It's fun times. To joke with them, talk with them, talk with the coaches. Good to know that they want me there with them, but at the end of the day it's my decision. I need to make the right one for me."
Bronny James' college choice
Bronny has teased that his college choice is coming soon. He is the only player at the Hoops Summit who has not committed to a college or professional route. Bronny and the rest of the James family have been open about his desire to play at the college level, and there are plenty of programs that would love to have him.
The 6-foot-2 guard has established himself as a legitimate college prospect. He is the 28th-ranked recruit in the country, according to ESPN, and has further opened eyes on the AAU circuit and at the McDonald's All-American Game. Bronny averaged 14 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.8 steals per game this season at Sierra Canyon.
The four-star recruit has received offers from Kentucky, Memphis, Ohio State, Oregon, USC and Michigan. He has reportedly narrowed his choices to Ohio State, USC and Oregon.
LeBron James has been open about his desire to play with his son at the NBA level as early as 2024, and the goal is beginning to be within reach. Bronny has done an impressive job creating his own legacy and lane and staying out of his father's shadow. The defensive-oriented guard has established himself as a legitimate NBA prospect and could very well take the one-and-done route.
There are set to be some major storylines in the James household as Bronny will officially make his college choice while LeBron James prepares for the NBA playoffs. The LA Lakers are firmly in the playoff mix and playing their best basketball of late.
