Atlanta Hawks Preview
Despite staging a fourth-quarter comeback, the Atlanta Hawks eventually fell to a 104-105 overtime defeat to the Indiana Pacers on Friday night. It was Atlanta's ninth consecutive loss (longest streak in the NBA right now) and the Hawks have quickly sunk after making a somewhat impressive start to the season.
Only the Washington Wizards, New Orleans Pelicans, and Memphis Grizzlies have allowed more points per game than the Hawks, and they are also shooting a league-low 31% from three-point range.
Key Player - Trae Young
The Hawks may be struggling, although Trae Young is in contention to make his first All-Star appearance. The point guard is averaging 27.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 8.4 assists per contest and he dropped 49 points last night on the Pacers.
Hawks Predicted Lineup:
De'Andre Hunter, Jabari Parker, Damian Jones, Trae Young, Cam Reddish
Houston Rockets Preview
The Rockets entered the week on the back of defeats to the Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, and Dallas Mavericks. Nevertheless, Mike D'Antoni's side regrouped to beat the in-form Miami Heat on Wednesday, and Houston's upcoming schedule is much more forgiving.
While only the Milwaukee Bucks and Washington Wizards have better offenses this season, defense remains a problem as the Rockets are currently allowing 114.7 points per game. Clint Capela is also a doubt due to illness, and D'Antoni will be hoping that the likes of Tyson Chandler can step up in his absence.
Key Player - James Harden
While the Rockets have struggled for consistency this season, James Harden is currently enjoying a career-year. The 30-year-old enters tonight's game averaging 37.7 points, 7.8 assists, and 6.1 rebounds. Harden is also coming off another big performance against the Heat.
Rockets Predicted Lineup:
P.J. Tucker, Danuel House, Tyson Chandler, James Harden, Russell Westbrook
Hawks vs Rockets Match Prediction
Following an impressive start, the Hawks have faded badly in recent weeks, and with Harden enjoying the best stretch of performances of his career, it is difficult to envision anything other than a comfortable Houston win.
