Boston Celtics Rumors: Celtics could move for Clint Capela, Enes Kanter among players that could be traded and more
The Boston Celtics were among the most active teams during the offseason as key players such as Kyrie Irving, Al Horford and Terry Rozier all left. The Celtics responded by bringing in Kemba Walker and Enes Kanter while Brad Stevens has guided his young team to a 4-1 start to the 19-20 season.
When combining Boston's early season form with the lack of competition in the East, there's no reason for them to think they cannot compete this season - and an ambitious front office may make several moves over the coming months. So with the potential for plenty to happen, here we take a look at all the latest Celtics rumours you need to know:
#3 Signing a center is priority, Clint Capela could be targeted before trade deadline
The Celtics have been in the market to sign a big for much of the past year, although a summer move for Anthony Davis never got off the ground. Nevertheless, ESPN's Brian Windhorst believes adding a center remains a priority for the Celtics and Clint Capela is among the options they will consider in the coming months:
Another center executives are watching is Clint Capela, who was dangled in trade talks early last summer but got pulled back when the Houston Rockets went all-in on a Russell Westbrook deal. If the Rockets need midseason changes, and they almost always itch for them, Capela could be available again.
Capela has started the new season well, averaging 14.8 points and 8.2 rebounds in 27.0 minutes per contest. Nevertheless, the Rockets have James Harden and Russell Westbrook signed to long-term expensive deals and the front office could be open to letting Capela leave in order to make further additions to the roster.
