Bucks Trade Rumors Roundup, January 28th: Thon Maker wants out of Milwaukee

Thon Maker was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 10th overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft. The 21-year-old is averaging 4.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game this season while averaging 11.7 minutes per game.

The Center has not been receiving the amount of playing time he would have liked this season and with the Bucks leading the association with a 35-13 record, there is no chance that they would change their lineups.

According to a report by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski:

The representative for Milwaukee Bucks center Thon Maker has told management that he would prefer the franchise to trade Maker to a team that would provide a larger role for the former lottery pick, league sources told ESPN on Saturday.
As Maker's playing time has diminished under new coach Mike Budenholzer in the Bucks' surge to the NBA's best record, agent Mike George and Milwaukee general manager Jon Horst have discussed trade scenarios in recent weeks that would potentially make sense for both the player and team, league sources said.
Horst was part of a front office that selected Maker with the 10th overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft, and there remains strong organizational belief in Maker's future, sources said.
The Bucks are under no obligation to trade Maker, but the organization has discussed possible deals with rival teams ahead of the Feb. 7 trade deadline, sources said.

The frontcourt depth is not an issue for the Bucks and this is also the reason why Maker has fallen out of rotation. He is eligible to negotiate to a rookie extension contract with the franchise this offseason.

It will be interesting to see if the franchise trades him to some team that will help him find more on-game time. If the Bucks do not trade him before the trade deadline, Maker will have to wait till the end of the season.

The Center's best game this season came against the Utah Jazz where he scored 15 points in 18 minutes of action and helped the team get the win. Maker has not gotten any playing time in the Bucks' last five games.
