Celtics' Starting Lineup: Boston Celtics' Predicted Starting Lineup Against Cleveland Cavaliers
After losing Gordon Hayward on the opening night of the season last year, the Boston Celtics still managed to run deep in the playoffs (without All-Star guard Kyrie Irving) and eventually lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a well fought seven-game series.
With Kyrie and Hayward back in the lineup this year, everyone expected the team to hit a home run but that hasn't happened. The Celtics are currently at the fifth spot in the East and have been underperforming all season long.
The C's have been changing their lineups and are struggling to find the right combination. Gordon Hayward has not looked like the player that he was before the injury and has been relegated to the bench.
Even though the Celtics have done well in patches, including their eight-game win streak in December, they could not build on the momentum and a three-game losing streak immediately derailed their progress.
While Kyrie Irving has been at his usual best, averaging over 23 points per game, the other players have not shown the same level of consistency. However, the Celtics have been great last week and are currently on a four-game win streak, including the win against red-hot Toronto Raptors.
All those wins were registered in a convincing fashion and Kyrie Irving led the team in scoring in all the four games. The Celtics' next four games will be at home, starting with Cleveland Cavaliers, who are currently the worst team in the league.
This is a nice chance for the Celtics to extend their win streak to five games and gain some confidence before the defending champions, Golden State Warriors, land in Boston for a game. For now, it looks like the Celtics have finally got the combination right.
Predicted Boston Celtics' starting line-up:
Marcus Morris(F), Jayson Tatum (F), Al Horford (C), Jaylen Brown (G) and Kyrie Irving (G)
