Dallas Mavericks' strange bearded pact - Reach .500 or don't shave
NBA side Dallas Mavericks made a pact during the course of the season that the players were not to shave their beards until they reach a .500 record. The Mavericks beat the Hornets on Sunday night to get back to .500 and now sit at 40-40 on the season.
Dirk Nowitzki joined the NBA’s 25k point’s club in Sunday’s 107-89 win at New Orleans. He then took a razor and shaved his beard, marking a celebration of the .500 mark. Dirk then added - “I might get a kiss tonight, My wife stopped kissing me sometime in February.”
The Mavericks made the pact in February and decided not to cut the facial hair until they reach the .500 mark.
Nowitzki is just one of 17 players in NBA history with 25,000 points.
