Derrick Rose to undergo surgery for torn meniscus
Derrick Rose will be out indefinitely after an MRI scan on his right knee revealed a torn meniscus. Unfortunately for Rose, it is on the same knee that made him miss the last season after just 10 games. The Chicago Bulls are doubtful of Rose returning anytime soon given the fact that the 26-year old usually takes longer time for rehabilitation.
The Bulls have 25 regular season games left in the season and it is highly likely that he wouldn’t be a part of it. Rose told the team officials of the injury during a training session on Tuesday. Rose is currently averaging 18.4 ppg on just 40.7 percent shooting with 5.0 apg, well below his MVP averages of 25.0 ppg on 44.5 percent shooting and 7.7 apg in 2010-11. The Chicago native was inconsistent this season as he settled for 3-point shots and did not attack the basket often. The Bulls have an uphill task ahead of them in the absence of Rose.
Several NBA players took to social media to support Rose.
Man feel bad for D.Rose! Keep your head up homie and stay strong G!

Praying for my boy @drose. Just a temporary setback... I know he'll make it back even stronger.
