Dwight Howard Fined Again For Another Obscene Gesture
What's the story?
Charlotte Hornets center Dwight Howard fined $35,000 for his recent inappropriate gesture on the basketball court against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
In case you didn't know...
Howard was fined $25,000, less than 3 weeks ago, for a similar lewd gesture towards a fan in Minnesota.
The heart of the matter...
Dwight Howard on Friday night during the second quarter of the loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers flashed the universal symbol of cunnilingus in an intermediate direction for unknown reasons.
He was docked another $35,000, to add to the $25,000 he got less than 3 weeks ago against the Minnesota Timberwolves, to make the total fine from the NBA up to $60,000 for his indecent behavior.
The Hawks traded Howard and the No. 31 overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft to Charlotte for center Miles Plumlee, shooting guard Marco Belinelli and the 41st pick. Howard, an eight-time All-Star and three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year, has been very inconsistent and will be playing for his third team in three years following a disappointing one-year return to his hometown Atlanta.
For the 19 games, this season in Charlotte, Howard is averaging 15.2 points, 12.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists with 57.4 percent from the field.
What's next?
The Charlotte Hornets (8-11) are out of the playoff picture as of now as they seeded at the 11th position in the Eastern Conference and therefore need to go back to winning ways as they play the 4th seeded Toronto Raptors (12-7) on Wednesday.
Author's take
With two such crude incidents already taken place in a short span of time, Dwight Howard should be warned by the NBA and should be looking towards a suspension if this were to repeat again this season.
