Fact Check: Does LeBron James have 100 rating in NBA 2K25? Ronnie 2K shares clarification

Ronnie 2K has clarified the rumors surrounding LeBron James' overall in the upcoming NBA 2K25 game. The LA Lakers superstar will be entering his 22nd year in the league, the same number of times he has been in the popular video game franchise.

According to a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, James will have a 100 overall rating in NBA 2K25. If so, he will be the first player since Shaquille O'Neal in NBA 2K2 who received the maximum overall rating.

But is the report true? Here's what Ronnie 2K tweeted about the ratings that have been popping up on social media.

"Outside of Rookies, no ratings have been released. So trust fake ratings and alleged rating sites at your own risk!"

It should also be pointed out that the page reporting that LeBron James will have a 100 overall rating is @BronMuse, dedicated to praising the four-time NBA champion, so it will have a bias toward him.

Nevertheless, James is expected to have a high rating in NBA 2K25 despite being the oldest player in the NBA. He had a 96 rating in NBA 2K24, so it could be in that range again. It could also be higher, as he has been playing magnificently in the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympics for Team USA.

Around the 1:22 mark of the video below, Bronny James appears with his father LeBron James. Bronny threw an alley-oop to LeBron, who slammed it home with his left hand. They also showed the in-game celebration of the father-son duo for the LA Lakers four seconds later.

The trailer also showed that Bronny James already had his face scanned and available for NBA 2K25. He might be the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, but he's unlike any other player in the league, as he has a chance to make history this upcoming season with his father.
