Golden State Warriors vs Sacramento Kings Prediction and Betting Tips | Jan. 22, 2025

The Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings will be meeting for the second time in the same month. Both teams meet at the Golden 1 Center on Wednesday with the Kings looking to go 2-0 against the woefully struggling Warriors. The two Northern California sides have had contrasting runs in their last 10 games with the hosts winning nine, while Golden State have lost five.

The Warriors head into the contest on the back of a 40-point loss against the Boston Celtics. Their offense collapsed with just Steph Curry and Moses Moody scoring in double digits. Their defense without Draymond Green and Jonathan Kuminga took a beating as they recorded their third loss in five games.

The Kings have been on a roll. Despite their loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, they have been largely consistent winning against some of the tougher teams across both conferences. They are better-placed in the West with a 22-20 record. The Warriors on the other hand have just kept their heads over water with a 21-21 run with their next set of games dictating how their campaign pans out.

It doesn't help that Golden State doesn't have their key names for a pivotal clash against the Kings. With Green and Kuminga ruled out, the Bay Area side will be facing stern test against in containing their opponents' three-pronged offense. This will be the second meeting between the two teams with two more slated in the months to come.

Golden State Warriors vs Sacramento Kings Preview

The Warriors struggles on defense have been real and the loss of a key defensive presence in Green makes it harder for them to get past offense-heavy threats. Their offense depends heavily on Curry and they will hope there will be support coming in from the likes of Andrew Wiggins and Dennis Schroder.

The Warriors are 21st in scoring offense averaging 110.8 points per game and 108.9 points per 100 possessions. They are 25th in field goal offense with 44.6% from the field and 14th in 3-point offense with 36.5% from the deep. They are still a top ten team in scoring defense with 111.2 points per game and allow 109.0 points per 100 possessions.

The Kings have been impressive on both ends of the floor with their starters in a rich vein of form. Health has helped their case as they are seventh on scoring offense averaging 116.7 points per game. They make 48.4% of their field goals and 30.8%. They are still a side that struggles on defense on occasion and is placed a league-best 19th place allowing 110.5 points per contest.

The Kings have been the better team on paper with form and momentum on their side.
