Houston Rockets Preview

After making an underwhelming start to the season, the Houston Rockets put together an eight-game winning streak which was largely fueled by James Hardens' historic start to the season. The 30-year-old has averaged 38.4 points per game through the opening 15 games of the season, although Houston's winning streak came to an end on Wednesday night.

The Denver Nuggets' defense managed to swarm Harden on the perimeter, and no other member of the roster was able to step up as Houston fell to a 105-95 loss. While there is still plenty for the Rockets to be positive about, it is clear that Mike D'Antoni's side continues to struggle in the big matchups, and they face a tough night against the LA Clippers.

Key Player - Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook's performances have been solid, although the dynamic point guard has largely taken a backseat to James Harden. Nevertheless, Westbrook will be motivated to excel against his former OKC Thunder teammate Paul George, and the 31-year-old is primed for his biggest night in a Rockets uniform.

Rockets Predicted Lineup:

P.J. Tucker, Danuel House, Clint Capela, James Harden, Russell Westbrook

Los Angeles Clippers Preview

The LA Clippers have somewhat faded in recent weeks after an excellent start to the season, although the team has opened Week 5 with back-to-back wins. LA's latest win came against the high-flying Boston Celtics - and Doc Rivers will be encouraged that his side managed to come away with a win despite not always playing their best basketball.

The win over the Celtics also provided us with our first glimpse of the Paul George-Kawhi Leanord pairing, and while neither player enjoyed a great offensive night - the duo excelled defensively. With both players back and healthy, the Clippers will be looking to move up the West standings - and the Rockets are the first team in their sights.

Key Player - Paul George

Paul George made his much-anticipated debut for the Clippers last week, and the All-Star has been excellent since his return from shoulder surgery. Through four appearances, PG13 has averaged 28.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.8 assists, and he will be tasked with shutting down Harden.

Clippers Predicted Lineup:

Kawhi Leonard, Maurice Harkless, Ivica Zubac, Patrick Beverley, Paul George

Rockets vs Clippers Match Prediction

The Rockets and Clippers are both aiming to win a championship this season and a win for either team will be a significant statement. In Leonard and George, the Clippers have arguably the best two-way wings in the NBA, and while Harden is likely to deliver another huge scoring night, the Clippers should have enough quality to secure another win.
