How Steph Curry's age has only made him better in 3 key aspects of his game

Fresh off leading the Golden State Warriors to the title, some might forget what Steph Curry's age is. Entering the NBA back in 2009, the two-time MVP will turn 35 during the regular season.

While Curry is approaching his late-30s, it hasn't affected his play yet. In fact, some areas of his game have gotten even better over time. One aspect that comes to mind is his playmaking.

When the Warriors first drafted Curry, nobody expected him to play the point guard position. Known more for his scoring and outside shooting, most critics wondered if he'd be capable of running an NBA offense.

Looking back now, playmaking has never been an issue for the Warriors star. However, at his peak, he proved that he's more than able to facilitate at a high level. From 2013 to 2017, Curry never averaged less than 6.6 assists per game. His highest mark came in 2014, when he dished 8.5 dimes a night.

While his production in the area is starting to hit a decline now, it is something Curry has managed to improve over the course of his NBA journey.

Steph Curry's age will never impact his shooting

As the years go on, the eight-time All-Star is sure to lose a step on the court. That being said, Steph Curry's age will never impact his shooting ability.

The majority of people in and around the NBA agree that Curry is well on his way to going down as the greatest 3-point shooter ever. Luckily for him, it's a skill that will never fade with age.

During his prime, Curry was able to maintain his high percentage from beyond the arc while more than doubling his volume. Looking at his career as a whole, it's fair to assume he'll be a lights-out shooter until he hangs it up for good.

While stars typically begin their decline when their physical prime is over, shooting is something that is all mechanics. Because of his ability to knock down 3s at a high level, he could possibly extend his career closer to his 40th birthday like LA Lakers star LeBron James.

Steph Curry's age hasn't affected his scoring ability

The final area that Steph Curry's age has helped in is scoring. Part of it is because he became the focal point of the Golden State Warriors' offense, but it's something he's only ever improved on.

Even at this late stage of his career, Curry is able to put up points with the best of them. During his the season when he was aged 31, he secured the second scoring title of his career while averaging 32 points per game.

The Warriors guard is well on his way to becoming an all-time great. Partially because of how his game was able to continuously evolve over time.
