How is Steph Curry's net worth enhanced by his Under Armour deal?

Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry is one of the most recognizable names and faces in the world of sports. Curry has established himself as one of the greatest players of his generation, winning four NBA championships and breaking records for the most 3-pointers made.

Curry's success has translated into his off-court endeavors as well, which is largely because of his shoe deal with Under Armour. While most superstar athletes tend to sign with Nike, Curry left the shoe giant for Under Armour in 2013 and has helped revitalize the brand as he became one of the NBA's greatest players.

For his efforts to bring the company back to the limelight, the two-time MVP was reportedly rewarded with a 'lifetime contract' worth over $1 billion.

Steph Curry's partnership with Under Armour has paid off tremendously for both the player and the brand. His previous endorsement deal and his NBA earnings have pushed his reported net worth to $160 million. That number is expected to balloon in the coming years when his lifetime contract with the company kicks in.

Can Steph Curry and the struggling Golden State Warriors turn it around?

While many expected the 2021-2022 NBA champions to compete for their fifth title in nine seasons, the Golden State Warriors have struggled to a 3-7 record to begin the regular season. Steph Curry, however, has been off to a great start.

The superstar point guard is averaging 31.0 points per game on 48.7% shooting from the field, including 41.4% from 3-point range, and 94.4% from the free-throw line. He also has 7.0 rebounds per game and 6.8 assists per game and has scored over 30 points in seven of his last nine games.

At the root of Golden State's struggles is their defense, which has fallen off a cliff to begin the season. After finishing last season ranked third in opponents points per game and first in defensive rating, the Warriors are 30th and 28th in each respective category thus far.

While the team has the talent to turn things around, the West is very deep this season and falling into an early-season hole could come back to hurt later.

Furthermore, Golden State needs to play better on the road if they want to make a deep postseason run. While the Warriors are 3-1 at the Chase Center, they are 0-6 on the road to begin the season.

The Warriors are the first defending champions to start 0-6 on the road in NBA history.

Despite the struggles, all is not lost for Golden State. Their core of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green have shown in the past that they can lead the team on a winning streak required to turn their season around.
