"I did it for you": Tracy McGrady honors iconic 13-point in 35 seconds feat with launch of his own brand

NBA Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady is launching his brand, and it is not the ordinary type with his name on it; this brand pays homage to the most iconic moment of his NBA career.

As he announced the launching of his "13N35" brand in an Instagram story, the 6'8" guard/forward also thanked the people whom he has inspired, saying that he did it for them.

"20 years ago I scored 13 points in 35 seconds and today I launched my brand 13N35 - Thank you to everyone who has been inspired -I did it for You," the Instagram story caption said.

13N35 was launched in association with 88VIP, a brand under the umbrella of Alibaba Group, a Chinese e-commerce company.

Tracy McGrady's "13 in 35" is legendary

It was indeed 20 years ago, on December 9, 2004, that Tracy McGrady did something that has never been done in NBA history. It was a feat that, to this day, no one has emulated.

With his team, the Houston Rockets, trailing by 12 to two-time NBA MVP Tim Duncan and the defending champions San Antonio Spurs, he scored 13 straight points. This sequence includes draining four consecutive threes, one of which was a four-point conversion, and the last one sealed the win for McGrady and the Rockets with two seconds left.

Although McGrady's resume is respectable, and he is often ranked as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, many still regard the "13 in 35" as the main highlight of his career.

T-Mac, as fans fondly call him, was a seven-time NBA All-Star (2001-07), seven-time All-NBA selection (2001-05, 2006-08), and two-time NBA scoring champion (2003, 2004). T-Mac bagged the NBA Most Improved Player award in 2001, with averages of 26.8 PPG, 7.5 RPG, and 4.6 assists.

The X account @NBAHistory posted a 57-second video that highlights Tracy McGrady's legendary moment on the occasion of the star's induction to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2017.

T-Mac was drafted out of high school as the ninth overall pick in the 1997 NBA draft by the Toronto Raptors. He played for 15 seasons with seven teams (Raptors, Orlando Magic, Rockets, New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks, and Spurs). For his career, he averaged 19.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. During the latter years of his career, T-Mac dealt with numerous injuries that affected his production. In August 2013, Tracy McGrady announced his retirement from the NBA.
