Is NBA introducing its own official brand of condoms ‘The Buzzer Beater’? Debunking rumors about league's potential venture
There has been a post going viral on X that suggests that the NBA is releasing a brand of condoms named "The Buzzer Beater." In the past, the league has tried different practices of spreading awareness about protected sex.
However, there has never been a decision stating that the league is releasing its own brand of protection. The post going viral on the social media platform is made by a page named NBA Drama TV. It featured a photoshopped picture of a condom packet bearing the logo of the league and the made-up product name.
The page accompanied a caption announcing the news to its 20.6K followers.
"The NBA is set to release its own official brand of condoms, called ‘The Buzzer Beater’. Expected to launch later this year."
The post has garnered around 88K views and has 1.2K likes and 102 bookmarks on X. However, it is nothing more but a satirical post from a satirical page. NBA Drama TV has mentioned in its profile bio that it is not affiliated with the league in any form and is a page dedicated to satire-based content.
NBA steps up to play its part in the election
The USA will soon be voting to elect the President and government for the next four years. The world's biggest basketball league has also stepped up to show its contribution to the important event.
As per a press release on their official website, the league is joining hands with Power the Polls and Vet the Vote to recruit the next wave of poll workers. They released a statement stating the importance of the poll workers in an election cycle.
"As we approach National Voter Registration Day on Sept. 17, it’s the perfect time to get involved and make a difference in your community.
"Poll workers are the unsung heroes of Election Day. From making sure polling stations stay open to ensuring technology works seamlessly, they’re the ones who help voters cast their ballots with confidence. It’s not just a civic duty — it’s an opportunity to give back, support the democratic process and even earn some extra income." (Via NBA.com)
Potential poll workers can sign up through Power the Poll or Vet the Vote, where they will be redirected to a local poll worker application that needs to be submitted. They will then be contacted if their services are needed.
