LeBron James and Stephen Curry still atop in second All-Star voting return
The New Year brought with it the second returns of the ongoing NBA All-Star voting. LeBron James and Stephen Curry continue their rule at the top of the East and West respectively with James leading the league overall. The King leads the league with 775,810 votes while the Warriros guard is not far off with 755,486.
The 2015 NBA All-Star Game which is the 64th in league history is scheduled to be held at the Madison Square Garden on February 15th. It will be covered by the Turner Network Television (TNT), their 30th year of covering the NBA All-Star Game. The game will be seen by fans in 215 countries and 47 languages.
Rejuvinated Pau Gasol (372,109) and the only positive in the New York Knicks disappointing season, Carmelo Anthony (365,449) will join King James in the frontcourt for the All-Star Game. Among the guards, Washington Wizards leader John Wall (439,395) and aging veteran Dwyane Wade (396,575) occupy the starting spots so far.
Meanwhile in the West, 5 time NBA Champion Kobe Bryant (694,665) in his 19th season in the league will join Curry in the back-court. The Los Angeles Lakers are 10-22 and Bryant despite being in the top 5 scorers in the league, is among the least efficient top scorers in the league. However that hasn’t changed the feelings of the fans as Bryant is currently second highest vote getting among guards in the West, third in the West overall and fourth in the entire league.
Rising superstar Anthony Davis (732,154), Lob City general Blake Griffin (403,415) and Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol (343,587) hold the front court slots for the West so far. If the standings stay the way they are, Bryant will make his 17th All-Star Game appearance just two behind Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
