Kerr responds to legends who say they would 'destroy' Warriors

Steve Kerr sarcastically responded to claims by past NBA players that their teams would have beaten the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors – who won their championship in 2014-15 – are unbeaten in the playoffs heading into game four of the NBA Finals against defending champions the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Golden State are one game away from becoming the first team to go 16-0 in the postseason but it has not stopped the critics – Magic Johnson, Julius Irving and Rasheed Wallace – from doubting the Warriors.

Hitting back on Friday, Warriors head coach Kerr is tired of the claims.

"They're all right," Kerr deadpanned. "They would all kill us.

"The game gets worse as time goes on. Players are less talented than they used to be.

"The guys in the 50s would have destroyed everybody. It's weird how human evolution goes in reverse in sports.

"Players get weaker, smaller, less skilled. I can't explain it."

The Warriors lead the Cavaliers 3-0 in the championship series.
