Kevin Durant laughed at his defender before scoring and polarized NBA Twitter: “Nobody but DurGoat doing this”, “He was laughing at his own hairline”
Kevin Durant had a magical game last night against none other than the Orlando Magic. Durant was on fire shooting 79.1% from the field. He also shot 60% from behind the arc, making three out of five three-balls. KD recorded 45 points, seven rebounds, five assists, two steals, and two blocks. The Brooklyn Nets defeated the Magic 109-102.
Kevin Durant had a smoking-hot performance to the point where he even knew he was going to catch fire. Durant laughed at his opponent before scoring the basket inside the paint. The Magic's Kevon Harris couldn't do anything about it despite smothering KD on defense. If one of the all-time greats gives you a smile before making a play, better brace yourselves to get scored on.
Social media reacts to Kevin Durant's disrespectful play
During the final few moments of the first quarter, the Brooklyn Nets were down by eight points. With a little under a minute and a half remaining on the clock, the Nets were looking to make a play. Kyrie Irving got the ball to Kevin Durant, who was being defended by Kevon Harris. Harris was all over KD, however, and Durant found a way to score on him and got the and-one play.
While Durant was getting smothered on defense, all he could do was smile as a sign of determination to score on his opponent. Social media had a mix of reactions. Some loved it, others hated it, while another bunch just roasted him and made jokes about it. Here are some of their reactions:
"Nobody but DurGoat doin this btw"
"He was laughing at his own hairline"
"Wait till JT [Jayson Tatum] guard him"
"Giannis will humble him"
"🐐 [Goat] stuff right there"
"Kevin Durant looking at them like this boy got his hair done and he put lotion on and deodorant just to come out here and get ate up"
"He's laughing and that's the move he "pulled off" not like he completely broke him down. He got a tough shot to go in off a bad attempt. What's their to laugh about?"
"He couldn't do that against the Celtics 😹😹😹😹Stickman got swept by a team that Curry torched without breaking a sweat"
Everybody needs to give props to Kevon Harris to make an effort to stop one of the best to ever do it. Unfortunately, for Harris, it's a tall task to even slow down someone like Kevin Durant.
