Kevin Durant ruled out of action indefinitely
Russell Westbrook has been playing sensational basketball over the past month and a half to put his team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, into the 2015 Playoffs but all his hard work could go in vain with his All-Star teammate and reigning league MVP Kevin Durant ruled out of further action. Sam Presti, General Manager of the Thunder announced the decision to sit Durant as a precautionary measure to continued soreness in his right foot.

Returning from a Jones fracture he suffered during the training camp, Durant has missed 24 games with foot problems after he re-injured himself during the game against Golden State Warriors.
Prior to the re-injury Durant had missed the first 17 games of the season with the initial Jones fracture. He did however play in 27 games for Oklahoma City where he averaged 25.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists and lead the team to a 18-9 record during those games.
Currently, the Thunder sit in eight spot half a game ahead of the New Orleans Pelicans. With the Pelicans holding the 3-1 advantage in the season series, Thunder must finish at least two games ahead of New Orleans in order to guarantee qualification to the post-season.
