Kevin Durant showers love on fan reminiscing the 2xNBA champion's time with the Brooklyn Nets: "Glad u kept it one thousand"
Kevin Durant responded to a fan who was reminiscing about the time when the Phoenix Suns star was playing for the Brooklyn Nets. Durant replied to the fan on X, formerly Twitter, and let the fan know that he appreciated his words about him.
"Love you. Glad u kept it one thousand," Durant replied to the fan.
This was in response to the fan's tweet on X that he misses Durant playing for the Nets. He also highlighted the two-time NBA champions' quality to have kept fans entertained despite various circumstances.
Kevin Durant joined the Brooklyn Nets ahead of the 2019-2020 season after losing against the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals with the Golden State Warriors. However, he sat out the entirety of his first season with the Nets due to an Achilles injury he suffered in Game 5 of the previous season's finals.
Durant made his debut for the Nets in December 2020 and led the team to a second-seed finish in the East in the East after reuniting with his former OKC Thunder teammate, James Harden, in January 2021.
The two-time NBA champion put up a series of historic performances in the postseason, however, the Nets were edged out by the Milwaukee Bucks in an OT thriller in Game 7 of the second-round playoff series.
Kevin Durant signed a four-year $198 million extension with the Nets in August ahead of the 2021-2022 season and suffered a left knee injury in January 2022. He returned to action in March as the Nets clinched the seventh seed in the season after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Play-In tournament.
Despite his valiant efforts, they were swept by the Boston Celtis in the first-round playoff series. Durant then returned for the team for the next season and put up a series of spectacular performances before being traded to the Phoenix Suns in February 2023.
Kevin Durant likely to play for Team USA for Paris Olympics debut
After missing out on Team USA's exhibition games ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics due to his calf injury, Kevin Durant is anticipated to start against Serbia on Sunday.
According to Joe Vardon of The Athletic, Durant passed all tests ahead of Saturday's practice, clearing him for physical activities ahead of their upcoming game.
Kevin Durant will make his fourth consecutive Olympic appearance in the upcoming 2024 Paris Games. He is a three-time gold medalist and is tied with Carmelo Anthony for the most in USA Basketball history.
