Kiyan Anthony meets his idol Paul George with proud father Carmelo by his side as they ball out in Georgia
NBA legend Carmelo Anthony and his son Kiyan Anthony balled out with Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George in Georgia on Wednesday. George reshared a snap of the balling session on Instagram along with the father-son duo.
This came ahead of Kiyan Anthony's upcoming matchup against the Georgia Stars on Thursday, as he represents Team Melo at the Nike EYBL Peach Invitational Tournament.
Kiyan is coming off an impressive display as he led the team to an 85-68 victory over the NW Rotarty Rebels on Wednesday, with his dad watching from the sidelines along with Memphis Grizzlies' star Ja Morant.
Carmelo Anthony's son finished the game with his second-highest point total of the tournament with 26 points along with three rebounds, six assists and one steal while shooting 66.7% from the field as Team Melo improved to a 4-1 record.
Kiyan Anthony previously put up his highest point total of the tournament on Monday against the Mac Irvin Fire. The four-star shooting guard dropped 40 points on 78.9% shooting in the game to lead his team to an 81-51 win.
Kiyan Anthony picks Paul George as his G.O.A.T. over dad, Carmelo Anthony
In a segment on COMPLEX along with his mom La La Anthony in February, Kiyan Anthony picked Paul George as his greatest of all-time basketball player over his dad Carmelo Anthony.
When asked about who their G.O.A.T basketball player was, La La answered first and took the opportunity to put on a proud mama moment as she named her son.
“G.O.A.T. basketball player? Mine is this kid I know Kiyan Anthony,” La La said.
She justified her answer by referencing the difficulty she had while carrying him during the pregnancy and how watching him play has made her proud. However, Kiyan showed no such bias in his answer.
“My G.O.A.T. is Paul George," said Kiyan.
La La was surprised to hear Kiyan's pick, as she anticipated him to name his father, Carmelo Anthony. She interrupted her son, asking when he was going to utter his father's name while throwing the cue cards at him.
"The fact that you didn't say your dad first is crazy to me," La said.

Kiyan seemed to stop short of justifying his pick by saying that his father has never won an NBA championship. However, his pick, Paul George is also yet to clinch an NBA title.
