In case you didn't know...
Kyle Korver shot an exceptional 53.6 percent from beyond the arc in his third season for the Utah Jazz in the 2009-2010 season.
The heart of the matter...
The Cleveland Cavaliers sharpshooter Kyle Korver reaches a milestone that only 4 other players in NBA history have achieved so far.
The Cavaliers defeated the Philadelphia 76sixers in a 113-91 victory at the Wells Fargo Center. Korver shot 3-of-5 from the 3-point line in the game giving him his 2,100th shot of his career since he entered the league in 2003.The 36-year-old veteran now trails Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, Jason Terry and Paul Pierce in career three-pointers.
Cleveland added Kyle Korver from the Atlanta Hawks for almost nothing in the middle of last season to add to their three-point shooting arsenal. Since then, Coach Lou has done a masterful job of fabricating plays to extract the best out of Korver. Plus, it becomes a lot easier when you have a gifted distributor like LeBron James.
Since joining the Cavaliers, Korver is averaging 10.7 points and 2.6 rebounds while shooting an impressive 47.0 percent from beyond the arc.
What's next?
The Cleveland Cavaliers (14-7) are on a roll and have won nine straight including their latest win against the Philadelphia 76ers. They have risen to the third seed in the Eastern Conference below the Detroit Pistons and would like to extend their run as they play the Atlanta Hawks next on Thursday night.
Author's take
Kyle Korver is one of the best catch and shoot three point shooters you will ever see in the history of basketball. His insane ability to come off the off-ball screen and shoot the ball while falling towards his left or right is pretty impeccable. He deserves to be in the top 5 of the All-Time three-pointer leaders.
