LeBron James passing Kareem Abdul-Jabberโ€™s scoring record

In the eyes of many, breaking the NBAโ€™s scoring record firmly put LeBron James in possession of the title of greatest of all time. Of course, that fueled the debate regarding who deserves the title of GOAT.

The debate has split threefold in recent weeks, with some believing that James becoming the leagueโ€™s leading scorer meant he took the title from Michael Jordan. Then there were the doubters, those who remain firm in their belief that Michael Jordan is the greatest of all time.

Now, weโ€™ve seen a new side emerge in the debate, the side of the โ€™enjoyer' who believes that there shouldnโ€™t be a debate in regard to the greatest, we should simply appreciate legends.

While LeBron Jamesโ€™ move to bring two goats to his party certainly will fuel the debate regarding the greatest ever, itโ€™s safe to say in year 20, LeBron deserves his fun. After enduring plenty of criticism over the years, his crowning achievement affords him the luxury of a victory lap.
